Have you ever gotten in trouble for shorts or skirts that are too short? Shirts that show too much cleavage? Well, I can't help you get away with tops, but shorts I may ;)
1. Rule them shorts
- Shape is very important! With the same length but different style, you can look cute and innocent or you can be called a slu... I mean, you can get in trouble. Get the shorts you think you deserve! Too tight? You wouldn't want a wedgie OR showing too much of your curve (or flatness! Sorry ladies, again, squats are your friends). Too big? Okay, I thought "saggy" only applies to pants! Anyways, since I lost 30lbs, I had to find way to cooperate my oversize shorts with a limited number of shirts because...JESUS CHRIST!!! They cannot go with crop tops!!! Again, go with your body shape. My fave is high-waisted ones because they elongate my legs and emphasize my waist (it flunctuates from 59 to 62 cm).
-Fabric: Denim, man, you cannot go wrong with denim! To make your ootd less boring, mix denim with chiffon, satin. r silk for a more feminine look (these types of fabric are more flowy, more sheer, create more illusion for the body than cotton). Cotton, on the other hand, brings out youth, sportiness, and casualness. Say, with the same basic denim shorts, you can impress your date by adding a off-the-shoulder chiffon blouse (preferably more lacy); OR you can rock out a concert with a cotton muscle tank with your favorite band on it.
-Create the aura: As I said, a few changes when mix-and-match with shorts can give out different feelings. Floral shorts with softer materials are suitable for spring and summer. However, darker floral can also be applied to autumn. Paisley says "I'm royalty" while stripes label "chic" all over your butt cheek. Then we move up to the shirts. Blouses are feminine, crop tops cool you off, and tees go with you all year. Then we have hoodies and sweatshirts to accompany you during colder days or slacker days. Remember to play with different styles by manipulating the colors, patterns, fabric, and forms of both your shorts and shirt.

2. Deal with the school
- Mix your shorts with a cardigan or jacket can help cover more skin (however to an extent) and divert attention to your upper body. It can also add some spice to your outfit! See my post How to wear outerwear for more tips.
- Knee-high socks, leggings, tights, or boots can help cover up your calves. Personally, I love this factor because my calves aren't exactly ideal for showing off.
Even if you wake up late. you can look like you actually put effort in an outfit by adding a jacket/blazer/cardigan or/and socks/leggings/tights/boots. Just with a white tee and denim shorts, you can look presentable with ankle boots and a long sheer kimono AND get away from the teachers' eyes because a) the kimono will "flow" a lot, somehow magically cover your body but still shows it off ^^ b) you would look just too dashing to change into "more appropriate" clothes.
