Do you like the idea of school girl outfit? Ever dressed up as Britney Spears's school girl image for Halloween? Do you find Japanese/Korean school girl cute or attractive? Well, if you do, don't be afraid to merge this adorable style to your closet.
Okay, you're probably thinking "this is not what I'm going for..."
How about this?
How about this?
YESSSSSS!!!! And I don't want to be creepy but this is my laptop's background right now. A bonus story: My old laptop, which had this picture, was broken! After I got a new laptop, I literally went searching all over the big net for this photo (stalker I know!). But c'mon, that outfit, that hair, that skin tone, you're kawaii girlfriend!!! Anyways, my point is, by altering the shape, fabric, color, and how you wear something, you can be an ugly duckling turning swan (not that look is everything, we all know personality matters...but hey, this is a fashion article!).
Not really a school girl look? Here's some more...

If you want to take a risk with this style, you will need:
1. Socks - but not just any sock...
I recommend knee-high, since they will emphasize more on your legs, making them appear slimmer and longer. As you can see above, the upper part of the body is well covered, but the legs are pretty much exposed. This is pretty harsh on someone with bulky calves, but no worries, squatting and a suitable diet will help. If you're not confident, try
high-knee fuzzy socks or the Japanese style that resembles leg-warmers (ha, they look better though). Personally, I think stripes, in contrast with the belief that they widen your body, actually create an illusion, attracting people to the socks instead of your legs.

2. Cardigan: cover them wrists for innocent look vs. blazer: sleek, chic, and preppy vs. knit sweater: over-the-top cuteness
I would go for:
- neutrals such as black, white, grey, cream - they go with anything and everything
- light pastel (soft pink, baby blue, mint, peach, etc.) - sweeter than sweet
- navy blue, burgundy, moss green - a preppy feel

3. Ties/bow ties and pleated skirts are queen!
The great thing about ties is they can be ton-sur-ton with your skirt. Plaids are not as boring as you think. Bolder lines and more contrasting colors will draw more eyes on you. Black and red are perfect winter. Another combo you should try is grey skirt and pastel pink bow ties.

4. You decide the result!!
-Wear light/natural makeup. Avoid heavy eyeshadow/ mascara/ lipstick/ contour/ blush... Your makeup should say "I am friendly and sweet."
-Be creative with your hair. Braids are a plus. I prefer darker hair and little highlight. Ooh, hairpins of colors contrasting to your hair color are really cute. Headbands or beanies that match with any part of your "uniform" are okay too. If you can find a nice beret, wear it! (make sure they cooperate with the entire outfit).
In the end, you are the controller. Be a good coordinator....or a super cute school girl ✌
